The concept of B'Nai Noah (Children of Noah) is as old as the Biblical Flood.

After the wickedness of the Flood generation, the survival of Noah and his family represented a new beginning for the earth and mankind.  The Creator gave Noah these Seven Laws (in Hebrew, the Sheva Mitzvot) to allow all the people of earth a chance to establish the most basic universal moral and ethical laws required by any society to be truly human. They are about Man's relationship to G-d, Man's treatment of Man,and how to hold Mankind accountable for breaking any of the Laws.
